ELITE RUNNERS
The Great Aloha Run is unique in many ways but one which perhaps best highlights the true heart of the race can be seen in the participation of ELITE RUNNERS from Hawaii and all over the world! Winners in the past twenty-eight years have come from New Zealand, Sweden, Japan, Canada, China, Ireland, Morocco, Ethiopia and the United States. These world-class athletes have joined together with all of our other entrants to celebrate good health and support Hawaii charities.
Elite runners are eligible to win $4,900 in Runner's HI Sponsored prize money! Cash prizes for top 3 male and female winners in the Open Divisions:

Expo: Mandatory check-in at Expo. Bring proof of finish time. Pick up your run number at expo as well.
Requirements: To qualify for the Elite Division and the chance to win prize money, you must have the following finish times or better:
Male: sub 47-minute finish time for 13K distance or 5:45 minute pace per mile.
Female: sub 57-minute finish time for 13K distance or 7:00 minute pace per mile.

MILITARY RUNNERS
Military runners are eligible to win $3,500 in Bank of Hawaii Sponsored prize money! Cash prizes for top 3 male and female winners in the Military Divisions:

STROLLER BABIES
Expo: Pick up running number at Expo.
Stage: On Alakea. Free children's activities are available race day at the Stroller Derby, corner of Alakea and Merchant.
Start: 7:00 am
Operators and occupants of strollers and noncompetitive wheelchairs must line up on Alakea, and must WALK the entire course.
IMPORTANT: Operators and occupants of strollers and noncompetitive wheelchairs must accept the risks of participation in a group this large. Carefully read the release and disclaimer before entering.
Helmets are encouraged, especially for infants, toddlers, and physically challenged individuals.
Participants still on the course after 10 a.m. will be required to continue the race on street sidewalks.
Anyone who does not follow Great Aloha Run safety rules and procedures MAY BE DELETED FROM THE OFFICIAL RESULTS AND DISQUALIFIED FROM THE GREAT ALOHA RUN FOR UP TO FIVE YEARS.
Major violations include:
1.) Jumping into the race along the course
2.) Running with a baby jogger, stroller, or assisted wheelchair
3.) Starting in the wrong color group
4.) Disregarding generally accepted rules for the safe and fair conduct of a running event
